How To Get Here

Ard Thurinish is situated in the crofting village of Aird, the most southerly part of Skye.  You may cross to the Island via the Mallaig to Armadale ferry or the Skye Bridge (TOLL FREE).  Please use the map and directions below, or visit this Google Map.

Mallaig to Armadale ferry
Crossing the ferry from Mallaig to Armadale takes about 25 minutes. Ard Thurinish is situated 3 miles from the pier. On leaving the pier turn first left at the junction towards Ardvasar and follow the road to Aird. After Ardvasar you are driving on single track road (plenty of passing places and two cattle grids to cross). Continue on this road until you see the red telephone box. Turn sharp left and Ard Thurinsh is the first house on the left with a gate and driveway leading up to the house.  It is advisable to contact Caledonian MacBrayne for vehicle reservation and confirmation of sailings. Skye Bridge (TOLL FREE)Over the Bridge to Skye After crossing the Skye Bridge turn right at the roundabout signposted for Portree and Uig. Travel on the A850 for seven miles towards Broadford. Turn left at the junction signposted for Armadale. Follow the A851 to Armadale. At Armadale turn right towards Ardvasar and then continue as above to Aird. The journey from the Skye Bridge takes approximately 35 minutes.
